SENIOR YEAR... what i've learned thus far

being honest in "i've never" games with the right people makes inuman nights so much more meaningful. it's not really about revealing DEEP DARK SECRETS; it's about realizing you're never alone... there will always be someone to drink up with you.

when time is ticking and each day brings you closer to the end of college, you will do anything and EVERYTHING just for the sake of it. bend the rules, break them if you want. get caught by the police, purposely leave your ID at home and play dakop2x with the guards in school, cut classes for extra-curricular activities (or to sleep)... just for the heck of it.

a lot of things won't turn out as you planned. you may have come up with brilliant ideas for months, but always, something will go wrong. people will disappoint you, but that doesn't mean they can't be trusted anymore. the weather and other things beyond your control will disappoint you, but that shouldn't take you down. most of all, you will disappoint yourself... over and over again... but who's to say there's no room for change? you have your whole life ahead of you.

fall in love, and fall out of love. allow yourself to be kilig, make yourself vulnerable. if your heart gets broken, mend it. if you break someone's heart, make sure you don't repeat the same mistakes with the next one. try to stay friends with your ex's. after all, you were friends before you became one of those cheesy couples who can't get enough of each other in the lobby. but hopefully, things will work out for the both of you. if it does, then anything must be worth everything.

surround yourself with friends... real ones. within your college years, you find many friends from all corners of the school, but not all of them will stay. when you find your real friends, stick with them. they're the ones who will cry with you when you fail a long test, bring you medicines and gatorade when you're sick, carry you to your room when you're too drunk to walk... they will be there no matter what circumstances.

find out what you love and stick to it. by now, you should have found the right org/s for you. step up. this is your last chance... your final year. once you step out of the grounds of the Ateneo, there's no turning back time. so let your voice be heard, bring your org forward before it's too late. i tell you, if something really matters to you, it's gonna be worth your time, effort and sleepless nights. trust me, it's even worth more than that. :)

because in college, they say they want to prepare you for the real world. when you think about it, it shouldn't be all about studying and getting A's in long tests. you will learn a lot more outside than you do in the classrooms. yes, you need to pass all those sucky subjects to get you into the job you want. but to learn how to live your life in the real world, all you really have to do is live it, and you will learn as you go along. :)
