funny, i realized, how great it feels to surround myself with people who share the same comfort in knowing that we're never too old to run around, fly kites and lie on the grass.

this is what i'll miss most about college.

as they say, there's always a little emotion behind 'i don't care'.

"It’s amazing how many times you can travel the same route without noticing a particular sign. Then when you’re looking for it, there it is."
-God's Debris, Scott Adams

that's true for most of the time-- some things have always been there, but you never notice them.

because you only see what you want to.

frost is famous!

i had vinegar poured on my hair, but today is a happy day!
(well, yesterday, coz it's 1:30 am)

i woke up to a text message from mia saying Frost got featured in the Philippine Daily Inquirer. being the lazy-ass-on-a-lazy-saturday-morning that i was, i went back to sleep and ignored the message. when i decided to get up, i found Lean in the room to give me my own copy of the article, (thanks lee, you're such a dear =*) but i didn't get the chance to read it because i was almost late for Frost production.

i didn't realize how much of an awesome news it was until i met my groupmates, and text messages wouldn't stop coming in from all over the country inquiring about our product. we even got orders from cebu and bohol! it was too overwhelming, that i had to text mar and kim to get me another copy. trust me, Frost making sessions haven't been this inspiring--nakakataba talaga ng puso.

to Cura Natura for being the best groupmates i could ever ask for,
to my friends who have always believed in Frost--even more than i do,
to Bianca Consunji for writing the article, (we owe you a lot!)
to everyone who purchased or showed interest in our product,

THANK YOU!

how do you measure a year?

525, 600 minutes.
plus the minutes i spend cramming (2 mins. worth of work in 1 min.),
minus the times i just choose to sleep instead of working.
but not to those who could not afford to enjoy time.
for a minute of rest would mean 80 cents less for his family.

1,095 meals.
plus all the snacks and random munches in between,
minus all the accumulated leftovers on my plate.
but not for those who barely have the chance to eat in a day.
to them, it would be a miracle to reach 365 meals.

10 months in school.
plus the hours i spend doing school work and all those crap,
minus the classes i cut or was tardy just because.
but not for those who are deprived of education.
they would do anything for a month in the classroom.

365 nights of sleep.
plus the 3-hour naps i take during the day,
minus the nights i spend partying with my friends.
but not for those who work til late night.

...hoping their families could enjoy 525,600 minutes, eat at least 1,095 full meals, spend 10 months in a good school, and get 365 nights of peaceful slumber.

dear self,
please be less apathetic this year.

Sometimes, you should just be thankful for what you have--creamy or not creamy.

just a few days before coming home for Christmas break, i found myself talking to kimber about 2009. she said she's glad the year was coming to an end.

i thought for a minute, and then i realized i was, too.

don't get me wrong, 2009. i will surely miss you. among all else, you made me stronger. :)
