on simple joys that make my day

because of cancelled classes, we'll be following the monday sched tomorrow. i hate my MWF classes. imagine 2 different lectures of chem and a boring theo class! *GAH* but here's something to celebrate the Monday sched on a supposedly "no-class-thursday":

breakfast with billy and shanon... and then MWF lunch with my loves! oh, the best of both days <3

MWF lunch has always been special to me since i-don't-know-when. there's a reason to celebrate with my loves just every time... reasons that range from J's butt to thomas crapper, and even to the most absurd event that we find in wikipedia (today is first-public-version-of-the-web-browser-mozilla-firefox-is-released day). whatever it may be, there's no stopping us from having our 11:30 lunch at Zekaf. :)

i just love how i get to spend even just one hour of my crappy weekdays with the people who always ALWAYS make my day. i guess i don't really need to look for an event in wikipedia... deep inside, i know they are enough reason to celebrate.

Shanon was right. Teachers’ Camp hasn’t changed. The tile in the middle of Pages Hall’s conference room has been broken ever since. NEAP Hall was still farthest from civilization; Quirino Hall, still small and intimate; Quezon Hall, still humid and jam-packed; and Benitez Hall, still with the most number of participants ever hungry to learn. Everything looked the same—old, scary, freezing. But why do we keep coming back?

We all know the reason. And I don’t think words will ever give it justice.

around a year ago, i grew close to one of my kids in DepEd-NLTSGO. i remember him coming to me after the breakout sessions to ask about college life. he was graduating high school then, and i could see it in his eyes how much he wanted to get into ateneo and join STRAINs. it's no doubt he was my favorite because i never forgot his name, Nino.

during this school year's dorm orsem, i was hoping i could find him among those freshmen in their goofy costumes trying to get our signatures-- but i didn't. I tried going over the list to see if there was a Nino from Surigao-- but there wasn't.

it took another DepEd-NLTSGO to pass for me to finally find him. seeing his comment on my wall post for billy literally froze a big 15-second smile on my face! even as we talked and catched up, i still couldn't believe it. my day couldn't have been any happier :)

turns out he did pass the ACET, but his mom wanted him to take up accounting in USC Cebu. why do i have a strong feeling i'd bump into him someday soon?

you know, it's funny how fate works. when you lose touch with someone who has made a difference in your life, the whole world conspires for you to meet again. :)

i watched UP with Mia today. this was the part when Russell talked about how his dad used to take him to a curb and count cars. my heart melted. yesterday would have been my parents' silver wedding anniversary.
